Job Description:
Main Purpose of Job:
To provide commercial financial support to the sub-sector Finance Director and Operating Teams.
To actively participate in the development of a “One Compass” UK Finance Function to continually improve service levels, cost effectiveness and add value to commercial activities undertaken.
Department Description:
Working within the Fine Dining and Hospitality department.
Key Tasks:
Client and Customer Satisfaction
1.1 Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Finance and Operating Teams for your sector.
1.2 Ensure that current processes, procedures and systems meet business requirements whilst actively recommending improvement and efficiencies as appropriate.
1.3 Develop close working relationships with other UK Finance departments to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of operating company finance issues.
Operational Excellence and Financial Performance
2.1 Proactively participate and drive results through monthly performance management (MAP):
? Reviewing and commenting on MAP reports
? Performance reviews with Operating Teams
2.2 Champion business initiatives as appropriate.
2.3 Proactively transition the client billing and account review activities of Review and Amend to the Finance Support Team.
2.4 Support the forecasting and budgeting process in conjunction with the Finance Team and Operating Team.
2.5 Review and actively control risk on the balance sheet in line with the Group Accounting Manual.
2.6 Support sales bids and the contracts approval process where required.
2.7 Support the production and review of capexes through the approval process as required.
2.8 Complete any ad hoc projects.

3.1 Strengthen the level of support to Operating Teams by leveraging best practices.
3.2 Identify ways to continually improve and simplify management information.

Person Specification
Qualification: A relevant qualification ACA /CIMA / ACCA (or equivalent)
Experience: You will also have strong systems skills, high numeric and analytical skills, at least 2 to 3 years financial or management accounting experience and confidence to present to senior executives. A systematic approach to problem solving and be a good team player.
Skills: Possesses excellent inter personal skills with a proven ability to influence internal and external parties
Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely, logically, and effectively to internal and external parties
Ability to analyse and evaluate information, compile reports and presentations and cascade this information to internal and external parties
Experience of spreadsheet usage to enable conversion of manual tasks to PC based
Ability to work on own initiative as well as in consultation with senior managers in a positive and harmonious manner
Eye for detail combined with clear overview of objectives and priorities
Ability to demonstrate effective planning and organising in all areas of the job ensuring all time deadlines are met
Positive attitude towards colleagues
Ability to take on board spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver within the agreed time frame
Prepared to travel within the UK.
