Flutteroo is a new online “Auction-Games” business that offers customers a fun way to win premium products at significantly reduced prices. Online “Auction-Games” have emerged in the UK over the last 18 months and the market is growing rapidly both in Europe and North America. They combine the very best of retailing and competitive Auction style games.

Flutteroo has a unique proposition that provides an enjoyable customer experience, while maximising returns to shareholders. The site launched in October 2009, and the business is growing rapidly and has already expanded through white label offerings to the likes of the Daily Star and Daily Express newspapers. In addition, flutteroo has secured Private Equity funding to allow it to accelerate its already ambitious plans.

The start up team has extensive Board level experience gained from top tier technology, media, retail, gambling and IT companies. Each member of the founding team has demonstrated rapid development in each of their careers.

This is a rare opportunity to work on an exciting online start up with big plans for growth. The role will demand hard work, commitment, enthusiasm and fresh thinking but will offer an unrivalled learning experience and lots of fun.

Purpose of role

This is a dynamic and fluid role that will be different every day. The key requirement is for an experienced front-end web developer to take ownership for ‘merchandising the Flutteroo shop-front’, developing it with the customer at the heart of every change, and always ensuring the site is flawless.

This means being the guardian of Flutteroo presentation standards and making sure that every element of the website is presented and ordered for customers in exactly the right way, at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

- The design, development and front-end coding of the customer interface to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Working closely with the Marketing and Back-End team to plan and implement site changes and updates
- The design and integrity of all graphics and images
- The delivery of promotional banners and onsite communication and all other customer facing content
- Page optimisation (load time)
- Multi-browser testing
- Static Landing Page Creation and implementation
- Managing analytic code integration (GA, onestat etc.)

Ideal Candidate – Professional Experience

- Experienced Web Developer with at least two years of digital experience from an online, consumer facing, retail business
- Strong CSS and XHTML skills coupled with Javascript, Flash and AJAX
- Strong graphic and design skills – extensive experience with Photoshop
- Good understanding of back-end ASP.NET and C#
- Understanding of working with white-label sites

- Robust, self starter who will own and deliver against tight deadlines
- Happy to challenge and contribute within a supportive (but challenging) team
- Has worked in a business start up environment before
- Sound commercial acumen with a track record of using this in practical business situations
- Strong Creative skills
- Strong analytical and IT skills
- Experience of process design and implementation
- Delivery focused
- Great eye for detail, particularly in regards to content
- Good communication skills - ability to structure and express ideas and thoughts
- Comfortable working with a small close-knit team


Length of role and location

- The role is a full time position on a rolling contract basis
- It will be based in Teddington, South West London

Reporting Line

- Direct line reporting into the Marketing and Commercial Director
- Dotted line into the Chief Technology Officer

Remuneration

- Between £18,000 and £24,000 PA based on experience
- 20 Days Holiday PA
