As a Category Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
Developing proactive networks and relationships with customers independent of trading
Identifying category opportunities and ensuring that they are reflected in the brand, NPD and channel plans
Leading the development and implementation of category plans with prioritised customers
Developing and inspiring the Customer Management team to appropriately utilise category tools and arguments
Creating and embedding appropriate category tools and working closely with insight, brand and activation managers to build shopper understanding
As a Category Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
· A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
· Category management experience across the FMCG marketplace
· Strong commercial acumen, ideally gained working across a range of channels, companies or roles.
· Line management/people development skills ideally
· Excellent knowledge and use of shopper / market insight

For the role of Category Manager, you will need to be a good communicator and influencer with proven experience of building, managing and maintaining customer relationships. You will be a self-starter and strategic thinker, able to capture a vision of the future and bring it to life in practical plans.
