Position Description:

The Account Manager based in London will be responsible for expanding Gerson Lehrman Group’s portfolio of clients at investment management firms, including hedge funds, mutual funds and private equity firms.

The Account Manager will:

• Prospect for new clients
• Pitch and win new business by articulating GLG's brand and value proposition
• Build relationships with Directors of Research, Fund Partners, and Investment Officers at prospective client firms
• Manage the overall service relationship between GLG and clients
• Interact with GLG’s Asia research team to monitor quality of delivery on research projects

Key performance metrics for the account manager include client acquisition, revenue growth, and adoption of new products and systems. This person will report to the Managing Director of European Sales and will also work closely with client service professionals and other salespeople. Candidates for this position must have a basic understand of buy-side investment business, and be able to manage sophisticated B2B relationships. Candidates should be comfortable articulating the value of our expert network, professional services and client-facing software systems to clients.

Expected Background:
• 5+ years of demonstrated success in sales
• Experience at former bulge bracket firms, alternative research firms or in an internal research position is preferred
• Large personal network of buy-side professionals
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a Master’s is a plus
